The Rabbit And The Lion Short Story - Panchatantra Story

The Rabbit And The Lion Short Story: Once upon a time. A lion lived in a forest. The lion was very powerful and he was very proud of his hair. He felt that no animal would be able to stand before him.

That is why he used to eat and eat the animals of the forest. He used to hunt many animals every day. Used to eat some of it and rip some of it away.

Due to such hunting of lions, all the animals in the forest were very scared and disturbed. They did not even leave their homes early, because they were always afraid that the story would not fall prey to that ruthless lion.

Apart from this, animals also had the rate that if this lion continues to kill dozens of animals every day, then one day it will come when there will be no animals left in the forest. In this subject, all the animals gathered and found a solution and decided to go to the lion.

All the animals gathered and reached the lion's assembly. The lion was very pleased to see all the animals together. He was thinking in his mind that it was good that all the animals of the forest came here.

Today I will not have to go anywhere for food. On seeing the animals, the lion roared a sharp one, it seemed that he was going to hunt someone.

Can eat and kill anytime. You are our king and we are your subjects. If you keep on killing such animals, then one day it will come that not a single animal will be left in the forest. Then whom will you hunt?

All of us animals together have thought of a solution. We want you to live and we too. For this, you will get food daily without any trouble. With this, you will also get food every day, and we animals will also get a chance to live a few more moments.

After listening to the animals, the lion growled and said - what do you want. So the animals pleaded and said - the government, we just want you to stop hunting indiscriminately. You only sat comfortably in your cave.

Every day one of our animals will come to you, so that you will get food without doing anything.

In this way we will be saved from killing animals in vain. The lion liked this thing about animals.

He said to the animals - I accept this thing of you people. From today onwards I will not hunt any animal, but remember if I do not get food someday. So I will kill all the animals in one day.

The animals said to the lion - don't worry about it. We will not let you down. You will get food every day. After this, every day one of the animals would come to the lion and the lion would eat it and calm his hunger. Gradually several months passed while doing so.

A rabbit also lived in the forest, he was small to look at, but was very clever and intelligent. One day it was that rabbit's turn.

He left his house to go to the lion. Going to the lion, the thought came to my mind that life is very valuable, it is not right to be the victim of any such lion.

Is there any way that I can save my life and the life of all animals from this lion. After thinking for a long time, the clever rabbit figured out an idea.

The wise rabbit deliberately went late to the lion. The lion was very distraught due to hunger. As soon as he saw the rabbit, he growled and said - I have been waiting for you for so long and you have come in so long.

You are so small that you will not even fill my stomach. All the animals cheated on me, I will finish the work by killing all the animals in one day.

That clever rabbit bowed his head in front of the lion and said - Don't be angry, there is no fault of the animals. He had sent five more rabbits with me at the right time. The lion roared angrily - so where did the other five rabbits go.

The wise rabbit said very politely - I am telling the same thing. Five more rabbits were coming with you and me. On the way we found another lion. He thundered and said - Where are you going?

We told him that we were going to the forest king. He got angry on this and said that there is only one king in this forest and he is me. He killed five of my comrades, and he left me to tell you that their king is not you but another king. If you want to become the king of the forest, then compete with that other lion.

The lion got angry on hearing that intelligent rabbit. Sher said angrily - he will compete with me. Tell me where that evil person lives. Take me to him, first I will hunt him and then eat you.

The clever rabbit said - follow me, I take you to him. The rabbit took him to a well. And he said - that was it, seems to have been hidden somewhere. His fortress is within the earth. If you challenge him, he will definitely come out.

The clever rabbit pointed like the wall of the well and said - this is the wall of his fort. The lion climbed the wall of the well in anger and looked into the well and saw his shadow. The lion actually felt like a second lion.

He roared sharply while looking into the water. His own voice came back after hitting the well, which was like his roar. The lion felt the second lion roaring upon seeing him. The lion became furious with rage, and leaped into the well without thinking.

What was it after that, after jumping in the well, he started sneaking out of the well, but he could not get out and died torturing in the same well.

The rabbit went back to the forest and told everyone about the lion's death. This made all the animals very happy and thanked the rabbit and all praised his cunning and intelligence.

Moral from The Rabbit And The Lion Short Story: One should always use his wisdom and discretion. We can solve any problem on the strength of our intelligence and prudence. To win with more power, you should use wisdom rather than force. And do not do any work in anger because in anger, the knowledge of good and bad is destroyed.
